Hump Day Love: Companion Pet Rescue

In honor of Coldwell Banker’s Home for Dogs National Pet Adoption Weekend, our Hump Day Love this week is going out to the shelter where we got our fur-baby from, Companion Pet Rescue.

Lance, our Shepherd-Lab Mix, is now 3 years old.  We got him from CPR at 16 weeks.  CPR rescued him and the entire litter of his brothers and sisters from a kill shelter down in the South at just 8 weeks old.  Based out of Southbury, CT, CPR has a fantastic website that they update frequently, which is something we really liked.  We spent months searching for just the right dog to add to our family.  We were getting married that year and wanted our first baby to be a dog that would grow with us and our soon-to-be family.  It was becoming frustrating to see a dog online at a shelter’s website, only to find out that he had been adopted some time ago.  Having an accurate website to turn to was a relief.  In addition, CPR makes it very easy to come see their dogs.  You can either go anytime to their shelter in Southbury or to a local event that they hold at pet stores across CT.  We found Lance online, confirmed he’d be at an event in Westport and then fell in love the second we held him.  In addition, CPR did a great job of getting Lance checked out by a vet, getting him the appropriate shots and getting him neutered.  They gave over all of those records when we adopted him.  It was helpful and gave us a sense of relief in knowing that we had those records.

We are so happy to have Lance be a part of our family and continue to recommend CPR to others.
